You could say that I have always had a passion for art. Even as a child I loved to draw and paint, and as an adult I have developed a passion for many forms of visual art. I have a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Indiana Wesleyan University, and more recently an MFA in Painting from Kendall College of Art and Design. With a background in graphic design and digital art as well as traditional drawing and painting, my journey as an artist has led me to combine photography, digital media, and traditional drawing and painting media to create my work. My work focuses on identity and the complex and diverse nature of identity, and my methods for creating artwork are in themselves diverse and layered.

In addition to creating my own artwork, I have a passion for teaching art. I have been an instructor in the Kendall Continuing Studies Program for more than two years, and I have taught many courses including: Painting with Oils, Painting with Acrylics, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Digital Photography. I am always looking for new challenges as an artist and as an art instructor, seeking new ways of creating and communicating through art.
